31 children hurt after bus overturns near Stellenbosch

Thirty-one children were injured – two critically and one was reported to be in a serious condition - when a bus overturned on the R44 outside Stellenbosch on Tuesday morning. When ER24 and Life Healthcare paramedics as well as other emergency services arrived on the scene close to Welgevonden‚ they found one of the critically injured patients‚ a boy‚ with his hand pinned beneath the bus.He was extricated by fire and rescue services before being treated and airlifted to hospital.The other critically injured patient‚ the child who was seriously injured and all other children who sustained minor to moderate injuries were treated and transported to local hospitals.The cause of the incident is unknown...
