Sindisiwe Manqele told the court that she stabbed her boyfriend, rapper Nkululeko "Flabba" Habedi, then slit her wrists because she "could not imagine life without [him]". Manqele, 26, was testifying in her murder trial at the Johannesburg High Court sitting at the Randburg Magistrate's Court yesterday.Habedi, 37, died of a stab wound to the chest on March 9 in his Alexandra home. Manqele has pleaded not guilty.Manqele told the court that she and Habedi argued after returning from The Sands night club in Sandton. She said he called her a "bitch" and accused her of flirting with other men.Manqele said Habedi grabbed Manqele by the jaw, demanded to know who she was "f***ing" and spat in her face. He was holding a knife during the entire exchange, she said.She said he then told her to pack her bags and leave his house.She claimed he then pushed her on the bed, and began poking her in the stomach with the knife.She said Habedi once again spat in her face and rubbed the spit over her face.She said she then managed to get the knife from him and pushed him away. When he grabbed her by the shoulders and began shaking her, she said, "I pushed and stabbed him." Manqele said she only stabbed Habedi because she was "terrified".She told the court that she then broke a glass and slashed her wrists with a shard."I was devastated and shocked by what had just happened. I could not imagine life without Nkuli. I wanted to die," she said.Manqele's testimony continues today...
