BDS issued a press release on Tuesday announcing that it would target the two companies for arranging what BDS called propaganda trips to Israel.

“Investec's flagship office in Sandton is aligned and home to a pro-Israeli lobby group‚ the South Africa Israel Forum‚ which is funded by CapeGate (a company involved in the contruction of Israel's illegal Separation Wall). Investec and its partner organization‚ the SA-Israel Forum‚ organizes propaganda trips on a regular basis to Israel‚” the press release said.

BDS said Discovery Health was also arranging a trip to Israel.

BDS members and supporters are set to march on March 11 as part of the group’s Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) protest‚ and the march will begin at Investec’s head office in Sandton and pass the head office of Discovery before ending at the Israeli embassy in Sandton.

“IAW is an annual international series of events (including rallies‚ lectures‚ cultural performances‚ music shows‚ films and workshops) that raises awareness of Israel's apartheid policies‚ violations of international law and human rights abuses toward the indigenous Palestinian people. It is endorsed in South Africa by over 85 organizations including our ruling party‚ the ANC‚ and takes place in over 250 cities across the world‚” the group said.
