Police attached to Cape Town International Airport on Thursday arrested a female air passenger who had 15 new South African identity documents in her luggage.
The 34-year-old‚ who was flying from Johannesburg to the Cape‚ will now face a fraud rap‚ the SAPS said in a statement.
South African Revenue Service customs officials this week also confiscated R4.26 million worth of liquid crystal methamphetamine (crystal meth) at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.
“Custom officials found 15 one-litre bottles of the yellowish liquid – confirmed to be crystal meth – during a random check at a warehouse” at the airport‚ SARS said in a statement.
The consignment was from India.
The narcotics were handed over to the police for further investigation.
