Ridiculous show gives fools a reason to live

When one man's toy car is another man's firecracker it makes for ridiculous and entertaining television.Exploiting this, MTV is giving purpose to the world's most foolish people in its newest local show, Ridiculousness Africa.Hosted by Thomas Gumede, Boity Thulo and Nigerian comedian Basketmouth the show is a local adaptation of the popular US show.Ridiculousness Africa features bizarre internet video clips of crazy antics and stunts gone wrong with commentary from the hosting trio and a guest.It definitely lives up to its name with short clips of people doing things like attempting to launch fireworks from butts.Executive producer Dillon Khan said the channel would be sourcing clips from the continent, but the reality was that the northern hemisphere produced more internet content."This show is unadulterated and unscripted and these are not things you'll see someone doing every day."This is also part of where we are as a society. We share what we're doing and in this case it's tricks gone wrong."For now the only "Africa" represented in the show will be the hosting trio, who will be joined by South African rapper Nasty C in the first episode.Ridiculousness Africa will premiere on MTV [DStv channel 130] on Thursday at 9.15pm...
