Telkom's Mabuza co-chair of merged brewer

Jabu Mabuza, chairman of Telkom, will be Africa zone co-chairman of the entity that emerges from the merging of brewery giants Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller. The other co-chairman will be AB Inbev head Carlos Brito, who will become overall boss of the new entity. No mention was made of SABMiller CEO Alan Clark when the structure was announced yesterday.The MD of SABMiller's South African business, Mauricio Leyva, has been appointed president of the new company's Middle Americas zone . Leyva will be an executive director on the new board, reporting to Brito.The position of "business unit president South Africa" is going to Yokesh Maharaj, currently SAB director of sales and distribution.The MD of SABMiller's "rest of Africa" division, Mark Bowman, SABMiller's general counsel and corporate affairs officer John Davidson and group human resources director Johann Nel "will remain with the combined group for a transitional period of at least six months following completion [of the deal] to assist with the critical tasks of integration, talent retention and stakeholder management".The headquarters of the brewing giant will be in Leuven, Belgium, and global management offices in New York. Johannesburg will be HQ of the Africa zone. ..
