R50‚000 reward offered after murder of Cape Town lawman

A City of Cape Town law enforcement officer was shot dead in Lower Crossroads on Friday night. Julian Davidson‚ 30‚ was ambushed by a group of men while sitting in a marked law enforcement vehicle waiting for a colleague.City manager Achmat Ebrahim offered a R50‚000 reward on Saturday for information leading to the conviction of the gunmen.The city council said the attackers were believed to have fired a number of shots at Davidson through the side window of the vehicle."The city conveys its deepest condolences to the family of Officer Davidson. We will assist them in any way possible through this very difficult time‚" said a statement."The Hawks are investigating the incident and we call on members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in bringing those responsible to book."TMG Digital/Cape Town Newsroom..
