A fridge‚ microwave‚ printer‚ pots‚ frying pan‚ kettle‚ heater and gas bottle have landed a security guard at a diamond mine in court to face criminal charges in the North West Province. The 56-year-old man will appear in the Lichtenburg Magistrates' Court for perjury and possession of suspected stolen goods on Wednesday.Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Pelonomi Makau said the man‚ a security guard at Drie Diamond Mine in Bakerville near Lichtenburg‚ opened a case of business burglary on May 30. He listed several household appliances and items as having been stolen. But a tipoff was received during the police investigation which revealed the complaint to be a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. It turned out that the man had allegedly stolen the items and given a false statement to the police when opening a case.“A search was conducted at his place and all items were recovered … and he was arrested‚” said Makau. ..
