South Africans are united in calling for justice for Thorisho Themane after video footage purportedly showing him being beaten to death emerged on social media on Tuesday.

Themane, 27, who is from Limpopo, was allegedly killed by a group of high school pupils. His body was found dumped in Flora Park, Polokwane, on Sunday morning.

The video shows a bleeding Themane lying down as his attackers continue to kick him.

Twitter has been flooded with comments from people urging the police and the Limpopo basic education department to secure justice for Themane.

The police's Moatshe Ngoape confirmed that the body of the young man was found on the street in the early hours of Sunday. Themane was taken to hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
