Morning traffic in Durban came to a standstill after a tree collapsed on three cars on Monday.

The incident resulted in the busy Margaret Mncadi Avenue (Victoria Embankment) being closed to allow police, the fire department and emergency workers to extract the injured.

Rescue Care's Ceron Meadows said four people suffered "moderate" injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
