High number of Gauteng residents satisfied with basic services

A quality of life survey conducted in Gauteng shows a high rate of fulfilment with basic services‚ health and education. Most residents in the province - 83 percent - are satisfied with water services‚ while 65 percent are satisfied with the public health system‚ and 71 percent with education services in the province.But while a high number of residents were satisfied with the public health system‚ residents were Johannesburg and Tshwane residents were not as impressed with services.The research conducted by the Gauteng City-Region Observatory‚ also reveals that inequalities are still huge."The gap between the rich and the poor is very large across all municipalities.”The survey focused on‚ among other things‚ inequalities‚ health‚ education and entrepreneurship.Most respondents – 62% - strongly believed that job creation was more the responsibility of the government rather than the private sector.Only eleven percent of black people in the province can afford to access private medical care as 82 percent of them have no medical insurance‚ while 68 percent of white people have access...
