The Bulls denied media reports on Wednesday that utility back Francois Hougaard would leave the team to join perennial rivals the  Stormers next season.

The defending Super Rugby champions said in a statement that Hougaard was contracted to the Pretoria-based side until October next year.

“Any rumours that the player will be available for other rugby unions is unfounded and without fact,” the statement read.

Hougaard was named in the Bulls starting XV earlier on Wednesday for their crucial Super Rugby clash against the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
