Polokwane City coach, Kosta Papic, has become the third casualty of the season after he and Rise and Shine parted ways following differences with the club management.

Following days of speculation surrounding the coache’s future, City confirmed on their Twitter handle on Thursday the Serbian’s departure and said the parting of ways was done “amicably.

According to media reports, relations with Chairman Johnny Mogaladi and Papic soured when he started having differences with club management over the team selection.

Free State Stars were the first team to part ways with their coach. Kinnah Phiri was fired for a poor start to the season and was replaced by German mentor Ernst Middendorp.

The Polokwane outfit are currently struggling in 12 spot on the Absa Premiership table and have managed just one win after six encounters.

The former Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United mentor guided Rise and Shine to an impressive 12 finish in the league last season, after consistently flirting with relegation in the previous campaign.

In a statement, the club said: "The decision was reached amicably and the club can confirm that the coach left on a clean slate. The club wishes Coach, papic all the best in his career endeavours.

"The team will continue with preparations for the Mamelodi Sundowns encounter under the tutelage of Assistant coach, Nkuene Mayala and Team Manager, Bernard Molekwa. And thus, training will not be affected by the sudden departure of the coach and will continue as planned."
