They chuckled about it in the press conference‚ but it was a half-time tongue-lashing from Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral that brought the best out of Tendai Ndoro to score a second-half hat trick against Golden Arrows. Ndoro established his early top-scoring ambition credentials with a second-half hat trick in a 3-1 Premier League season-opening win for Pirates against Arrows at Orlando Stadium that also signaled Bucs’ title intentions.Ertugral said he has set a target for Ndoro to break the 20-goal mark this season. The Zimbabwean enhanced his credentials as the favourite to finish PSL top scorer with a close-range tap-in‚ powerful headed goal and strike into the top-right corner.“It was a great game. And thanks to the great man [Ertugral]. He’s such a great coach‚” Ndoro said afterwards. “The first goal‚ you could see‚ was from training. The coach always tells us to delay the run – don’t just run to the near post when the crosser is not ready.“All the goals today were from the training ground. If we follow such tactics every week we will have goal chances.“There was a goal chance in the first half‚ where I was in the box. The coach said to me at half time: ‘What were you doing?’.“I was down a bit but with that first goal the confidence came back.“We are lucky to have such a great coach who loves his players‚ and doesn’t choose – today I scored‚ but tomorrow will be a different day and I will be chased away.”Ndoro was forewarned that Ertugral is a strict disciplinarianNew teammate and preseason roommate Jackson Mabokgwane warned Tendai Ndoro about Mushin Ertugral’s strictness‚ the Orlando Pirates striker said. Ertugral knows he has a pedigree race-horse in Ndoro‚ and that most precious commodity for any coach seeking silverware at a big club – a potential 20-goal-in-a-season striker.“He has such great quality. We spoke before the season and had a long chat about it – about the kind of potential he has‚” Bucs’ coach said.“Actually he doesn’t know himself and it’s quite amazing what possibility he has. And the 20-mark he has to touch this season.“We’ve put that nail in there – so we’ll see.”- TMG Digital..
