WHY should the paying public be expected to hand over more money for exorbitant price increases?

Government and local authorities have allowed the theft of electricity and water to go unpunished because they know they can always extort the losses out of the poor suckers.

Now the government says it will have to find billions of rands to pay health providers.

Here's a news flash for them: change labour laws so that lazy employees can be fired and recoup the vast sums of money paid to grossly overpaid ministers.

Money should also be forfeited by officials who have wasted taxpayers' money. I wish we weren't so damn apathetic. Start an uprising against the unending price hikes! - Sandra Thomas, by e-mail
