I'm incredibly lucky to travel a great deal for my job and also for pleasure. My sister lives in Los Angeles so I try to get over there as often as possible to visit her.
It is one of my favourite cities. It reminds me so much of Cape Town, and there is so much to do.
I have also spent a lot of time in the East, touring with various shows. Singapore and Hong King are definitely highlights for me.
My earliest memory of travelling abroad is going to London with my dad when I was six to visit my grandmother. I just remember being very overwhelmed with how big everything was and how cold it was.
For the perfect holiday, I need a beach, warm water, cocktails and a book. An island is the perfect getaway for me.
My favourite holiday destination by far is The Maldives. Simply breathtaking.
My mother, my sister and I took a trip to Cannes for the film festival a few years ago and had the most wonderful holiday. I fell in love with that part of France.
My most relaxing destination is Zanzibar. See, I'm all about that island life. I took a trip there with some girlfriends and it was amazing. We literally spent all day sleeping, eating and tanning. It was heaven.I love Thai food so one of my favourite restaurants is Kitima in Hout Bay. They have an incredible menu and the cocktails are amazing too.
Despite the beautiful places I've seen, Cape Town is still my absolute favourite city. It has everything you would ever want and is just so beautiful. I am very lucky to call it home.My most adventurous travel experience was in Wellington, New Zealand. We decided to check out something called the Adrenaline Forest. It is an aerial obstacle course that reaches up to 20m above ground. You are basically swinging on ropes, walking on tilting planks and ziplining through treetops, while you're attached to a tiny harness.
The day that we were there, there were some Navy Seals training on the course, so you can imagine that it is not for the faint-hearted. Definitely the most fun I've had in ages and the most terrifying thing I've done.I love boutique hotels that are quite quirky. Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood is such a beautiful hotel. You feel like you are a million miles away from a city.My best piece of travel advice is to always pack a jersey - and go with the flow. Amazing surprises and memories can be made in moments of spontaneity. The best experiences I have had are the ones I never planned for. I have met the most wonderful people that way. And talk to the locals. They know where the fun really is.My one travel essential is Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream. I never leave home without it. It is the best item in my handbag and is a magical cure for virtually anything.
I might be off to Russia for their BRICS Arts Festival in May, but otherwise I'm jetting off to LA again in July to do an acting course and to see my sister.
I can never go too long without a sister fix, so I'll be chasing the summer in California whilst it hopefully pours with rain in wintery Cape Town.
