Comedian Ankel’s Uzalo gig is no laughing matter

After several months of waiting by the phone‚ Durban-based comedian Sbusiso “Ankel” Shangase has finally landed himself a role on popular SABC 1 telenovela‚ Uzalo. And he says he can’t wait for all his friends to see him shine. Ankel‚ as he is affectionately known to his fans‚ has started working on the set of the show and will be making his on-screen debut next month.“I’m really excited about this new role. I’m also highly grateful and I hope to add value to the show‚” Ankel told TMG Entertainment on Friday.Ankel reveals that he has been waiting for a role on the show ever since he went through auditions in the show’s first season. They told him at the time that they would call him when a new role could be created and he had been hoping to get their call ever since.He was overjoyed to receive a message recently asking him to come on set.“Some people don’t believe in you‚ so you have to believe in yourself,” he said.“That’s why I’m so grateful to my friends for standing by me.
