According to reports in the Citizen this week, the family of slain Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa have given his wife Mandisa Mkhize the green light to start dating again.

According to the paper, the family have been pleased with the way that Mandisa has conducted herself in the wake of her husband's death and as a sign of their gratitude have given their blessing to her moving on and dating again.

Mandisa's love life was thrown into the spotlight in late 2014 when it was reported, only two months after his death, that she had been secretly dating a businessman from Kempton Park, Johannesburg. She apparently broke off the romance a month before Senzo was killed.

Since then, Mandisa has chosen to keep her private life secret, only breaking her silence to reveal that she still sends her husband messages on his cellphone.

"When I feel I need to share something, I send him a WhatsApp message. I also send him videos of my daughter whenever she does something silly. I think I sent him one yesterday," she told Sowetan in an interview last February.

The report comes nearly two years after Senzo was killed in a botched robbery at the Vosloorus home of his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's mother and only a few weeks after Senzo's club Orlando Pirates announced that they would give half of his insurance pay-out to his children.
