Hip-hop star AKA wants to get more involved to lend a helping hand to underprivileged people.

The rapper showed a keen interest in a campaign started by one of his followers, to buy sanitary pads for impoverished school girls who miss school during their menstrual cycle.

The campaign called RealPads4Change has been started by a concerned citizen who has pledged to personally buy a pack of pads every two days for impoverished school girls.

The guy who is a die-hard AKA fan tweeted the rapper about the campaign, and was over the moon when the Baddest star pledged to help in anyway he can.

AKA said that the annual charity CEO Sleepout campaign which saw numerous business bigwigs sleep under the Nelson Mandela Bridge to raise funds for charity, challenged him to do more to help people.

It was then that AKA stumbled upon the RealPads4Change drive.

"What's the situation with the sanitary pad and stuff .... Someone please break it down .... I think we really need to help with that," he said.

The rapper then asked the user who started the drive to DM his details through, as he wants to help.

Impoverished girls missing school during their menstrual cycle as a result of not being able to afford sanitary pads was cast into the spotlight, by the death of racing car driver Gugu Zulu, who died while on a Trek4Mandela expedition to raise funds for sanitary pads.
