Hip-hop star AKA is not buying into the hype about the DA making gains against the ANC in various wards following the municipal elections on Wednesday.

The rapper has come out strongly against Twitter users jumping to conclusions over the election results, which have been streaming in since late last night.

While results are yet to be finalised it seems the DA has made major gains - something that isn't sitting well with the internet.

On Twitter, users created a hasthtag #IfDAWins to ridicule the potential victories. At the time of publishing, there were over 9 000 tweets using the hashtag.

  • The internet is going absolutely bonkers with #IfDAWinsAs the results of yesterday's municipal elections continue to develop, Twitter users have created a hashtag poking fun at the Democratic Alliance.

AKA has come out guns blazing at the banter, saying that "this type of early talk will see people eat their hats."

The rapper suggested that people just sit tight until the final results are in.

"Just sit with your blanket, your tea and your rusks nicely and watch TV today."
