Fans at war! New Frank Ocean album splits the internet
For the past few days Frank Ocean has dominated the internet. You can hardly go anywhere online without hearing about the US pop star and his new album, Blonde. It even has Adele choosing sides!
After a four-year wait that was filled with disappointment, Frank Ocean has finally rewarded his fans for their patience with a surprise new album this past weekend.
The album, entitled Blonde, dropped in relative silence on Sunday Morning (SA time) and, like Caster Semenya, has run away with the internet's heart.
The album has an impressive list of contributors, including Beyoncé, David Bowie, Kanye West, James Blake and Kendrick Lamar.
Frank and his album topped the Twitter trends list around the world within minutes after its release, as fans clamoured to give their views on the highly-anticipated album.

Frank Ocean's album is perfect because it's made up of scattered thoughts and emotions that make sense...am I making sense?

But what would a new Frank Ocean album be without comparisons to the artist's debut, the classic Channel Orange.
Soon, it seemed that fans had split themselves into separate camps, debating fiercely about which album was better.
I think channel orange is ten times better than Blond.

I feel like Blonde is a lot more mature than channel orange. To me it shows his growth in many aspects: content, composition, etc.

Even singing sensation Adele reportedly voiced her opinion on the album.
According to popular US hip-hop publication Rap-Up, Adele apparently told fans at the Staple Centre that she preferred Frank's latest offering.

And as the album started to sink in, it seems that fans have already chosen a favourite: a collaboration with Outkast rapper Andre 3000 called Solo (Reprise).
Andre's verse (which addresses ghost writers in the industry) has been hailed by many as one of the finest in recent music history, while others saw it as a shot at rapper Drake
Andre 3000 is my lyrical idol wow wow wooooowwwwwww
