It's been over two years since Slindile Nodangala was unceremoniously kicked off of Generations, as part of the famous Generations 16, and the actress is still celebrating her freedom.

Taking to Instagram this week, Slindile reflected on being a part of the 16 actors who were axed by the show after they embarked on a strike over contracts, and said that the incident changed the whole industry.

Posting a picture of the group, Slindile wrote: "It will always take something for you to be listened to...to be respected...to be appreciated... to be free!"

She hit back at critics who questioned the group's decision to strike, saying that their stand did not make them "stupid".

"There'll always be a sacrifice, just because you weren't the chosen one doesn't mean we were stupid," she wrote.

She says that their actions have ensured that the "industry will never be the same" and said she was privileged to be part of the group.

"I'm grateful to be part of Generations14 as we are called the spirit of Biko and all those who fought and suffered and died for me to be free! What have you done?" she added.

Interestingly, Slindile referred to the group of axed actors as Generations 14, listing them but excluding Winnie Ntshaba and Sophie Ndaba from the group.

Reports in June claimed that Sophie and Winnie are both working with their former Generations boss Mfundi Vundla as producers on a drama series.
