TV and radio personality Sammy Sosa says that she is ready to return to the spotlight, if nothing more than to show her haters who she really is.

Sammy has had a highly-publicised break from the spotlight, after falling ill and recovering in Cape Town.

But speaking to TMG Entertainment at an event in Johannesburg this week, Sammy said she is stronger and more determined to succeed.

"It's been two months since I was back in Johannesburg. I spent five days in ICU... it was really really bad. It was just a lack of sleep, a lot of stress, a lot of pressure, I wasn't eating well and it can get to you. But the break was good for me to get some rest and peace of mind," she said.

Sammy revealed that she wants to prove to her haters that she is not what they say she is.

"This time around, now that I am back, I really really want to show people who I really am. I'm not who you think I am. You don't have to believe everything you read online," she added.

Sammy has been the subject of several social media trends over the last few months.

She hinted at the pain she often feels when people target her online, saying that it is "not a nice world to live in."

"We are real people. We might be famous but we also bleed. We also have feelings and emotions. And it's scary. It's not a nice world to live in," Sammy says.

And while she may no longer have a gig on Power FM, it seems Sammy is not short of projects at the moment.

"I'm going to be shooting a lifestyle show soon. There's also a cooking show on the line. I'm doing my own one man film. I'm doing a birthday tour and I'm also hosting my own workshops at the end of the month to help up-and-coming artists better understand the industry," she explained.
