Hollywood star Lupita Nyong'o is in South Africa to promote her latest film, The Queen of Katwe.
She was the show-stopper at a star-studded premiere held in Johannesburg earlier this week.
During a press conference, the Kenyan born beauty couldn't contain her laughter when she heard about blessers - a term used to name men who sponsor their plus ones with lavish lifestyles.
"I like that. I'm stealing it."
In the film a character goes out with a blesser and Lupita warned that this is a "social ill" in Katwe, where the movie is based and parts of it were shot, reports Sowetan.
"I'm not one to judge and if I see two people, I don't know what's bringing them together, but I will say that this is very common in Katwe. It's a society that marginalises women, where the average age of a mother is 15. You have a lot of single mothers and single teens."

She went on to add that this is a system that works better for men.
"The only recourse, and you see this in the film, is to get a man, because that's what is done. It's a system that works better for men, they have more opportunities and that is not uncommon across Africa and the world."
