Kenny Kunene's family have welcomed his wife and one-month-old baby into the fold with a traditional ceremony that cost the businessman hundreds of thousands of rand.

The ceremony was held at Kenny's childhood home in Kutloanong, Free State over the weekend and was attended by hundreds of friends, family and neighbours.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Kenny said that he got special sound equipment and furniture transported to the ceremony from Bloemfontein (over 168kms away) on the back of two large trucks.

"We also slaughtered eight sheep and dozens of chickens. Drinks were on the house. In total we feed around 500 people," he explained.

He would not reveal the total cost of the ceremony but confirmed that the bill came to "hundreds of thousands".

Proud daddy Kenny posted videos of the ceremony, including a cute moment where Kenny's relative reached for baby Remo while the businessman fussed over his child.

Kenny and his wife were married in a traditional and white wedding ceremony held in March and the businessman explained that this was the second leg of the wedding celebrations.

"My wife's family welcomed me at the festivities in March but my wife was not strong enough for us to travel the next day for her to meet my family. Now that the baby is here and things have slowed down a bit, we decided to do the welcoming ceremony," Kenny said.

He said that the family welcomed his wife and baby with open arms.

"To say they were excited was an understatement," Kenny said with a laugh.
