When it was revealed that Kanye West suffered from a mental illness, the world felt sorry for the rapper but he has come out to explain that he sees his illness as a super power not a disability.

Speaking to Big Boy TV following the listening party for his latest offering Ye, Kanye explained part of the reason he was confident in what he said or did, despite often being called crazy, was because he approached his metal condition as his power.

"I had never been diagnosed until I was 39. (It was) a mental condition. But like I said on the album, it’s not a disability, it’s a super power."

Kanye used the "slavery is a choice" comment that he made on TMZ as an example. He said he felt blessed to be who he is because he could afford to say that, unlike most people.

"Think about people that have mental issues that are not Kanye West that can't go there and just say that, then make you feel like it's all good.. They can't just do that because then they come back on Tuesday morning and find that they've lost their jobs. So that's why God put that on me at age 40."

The rapper also said after the TMZ incident he went and remade some of the songs on his album because he realised they were just too sensitive.
