Ntsiki Mazwai says she's more famous for her 'bare face' than Alicia Keys
Ntsiki Mazwai is proudly anti-weaves and has never been shy to say it.
But when she posted pictures of herself with make-up, she invited a lot of commentary about being a hypocrite, which she's now come out to address.
Ntsiki took to her Twitter on Wednesday to explain that her make-up was just a part of the "costume" that she's required to wear as a TV host.
She claimed that she's always "rebelled" against make-up, even before US singer Alicia Keys hogged headlines for going #MakeupFree
"I have been famous before and wore make-up. Before Alicia keys I rebelled against make-up. She followed. Because I felt my "beauty" was taking from my craft as a poet/musician. My new job is a tv gig - like an overall-make up is part of the costume," Ntsiki explained.
bit of history. I have been famous before and wore make up. B4 Alicia keys I rebelled against make up. She followed. Because I felt my "beauty" was taking from my craft as a poet/musician. My new job is a tv gig - like an overall-make up is part of the costume. https://t.co/cHUHfIx8kl

The outspoken TV host also went on to engage her male followers, asking why they felt entitled to comment on the weaves vs natural hair debate when they "hated" their own hair.
She advised them to look at their own self-esteem issues.
"Men always wanna have an opinion on weaves. Can we also address why you hate your own hair and always shave it off. Making you feel clean and sophisticated. Let's unpack your self-esteem issues too."
Women make men cut their hair. Apparently black men with white hairstyles are the REAL gentlemen. https://t.co/puf8HkrW2X

I don't know if men should talk on weaves and make up because you CLEARLY don't know the difference. https://t.co/9EEQAndhkV
