Seasoned broadcaster Mark Pilgrim has said goodbye to one of Mzansi's favourite TV and radio presenters, Jeremy Mansfield.

Taking to his Twitter timeline on Monday, the seasoned broadcaster joined those who paid tribute to Jeremy, described as a man who had a larger-than-life personality and loved to laugh.

“The radio industry is a family. Today we say goodbye to one of our own. Always remembered. Goodbye big guy. RIP Jeremy.”

Jeremy was diagnosed with liver cancer in January after previously battling leukaemia. Doctors diagnosed stage 4 cancer, and in August 2022 he revealed it was terminal and only subject to palliative care.

Jeremy died on Monday morning. His death was confirmed by close friend Samantha Cowen.

“This morning a light went out in the world. Jeremy Mansfield passed away just before dawn. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends and boundless love.”

Mark has been in his own battle against the disease since he shared he was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.

He has inspired many since he started documenting and sharing his treatment journey on Instagram. One thing he posts constantly is his love for his wife Adrienne, who keeps him going.

“Hospital day four, with my Adrienne by my side. One day, as we sip cocktails on the beach, with our toes in the sand and the girls laughing in the background, we’ll look back at these past months and say that this was one hell of a journey ... and we got through it,” he wrote.
