Nadia Nakai speaks on ‘misogynistic’ Kaya 959 interview

Nadia Nakai showed her empathetic side to a radio jock who interviewed her recently.

The rapper was a guest on Kaya 959's breakfast show a few weeks ago and it left many surprised.

On The Episode podcast, Nadia opened up about the Kaya 959 interview labelled “misogynistic” and which left a bad taste in many listeners' mouths.

Seasoned radio jock Sammy T asked the rapper and reality TV star about her relationships with her former label boss, rapper Cassper Nyovest, and her boyfriend AKA.

Speaking on how that radio interview made her feel, Nadia chose to say that though she was visibly annoyed with the line of questioning, she was not going to disrespect the station.

“I’m not going to disrespect Kaya FM. I’m not going to disrespect the other people who were in the room. I’m not going to disrespect Sammy T either because he is a legend in his own right. But I think in that moment I, you could see I was annoyed. But I was able to get my composure back and think, 'You know what, let me just breathe and explain to him what it is really about',” she said on the podcast.

During the Kaya interview, when she was asked if she dated AKA to spite Cassper, she dismissed ever dating Cassper or spiting him with her new romance.

Nadia reiterated her gratitude to Cassper for helping launch her career. She also made it clear she did not date Cassper's rap rival AKA to spite her former boss.

“There was no spite, I could never spite Cassper. He gave me such a big opportunity to launch my career.”

Nadia said she and AKA “just happened to fall in love”.

“For the longest time, I’ve never interacted with this person until when I was about to leave Family Tree.

“It just happened the way it happened and I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like it’s something God did. I feel like I don’t have to explain the Cassper element,” Nadia told Kaya FM.
