Friend and industry peer Da LES has joined AKA's family to ask people to stop pointing fingers at Don Design and other friends of the late rapper, who were with the rapper on the night he was fatally shot.

This comes amid growing speculation on Twitter that the rapper's DJ might have been involved in his murder after CCTV footage that was leaked was "analysed" by a Twitter user who fingered Don as a possible suspect.

The rapper was gunned down at a popular restaurant in Durban's Florida Road on Friday night. The shooting also resulted in the death of his lifelong friend and celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

Taking to his Twitter, Da LES said, " Please leave Don Design alone. He had nothing to do with this."

Speaking on Newzroom Afrika, Forbes family lawyer Rudolph Baloyi said the family was looking for answers and want to know who was behind the shooting, but are not entertaining the speculation that Don Design was involved.

“I spoke to him last night, and today and yesterday he was at the house. People are blaming him for this thing and we all know Don Design is not that type of person. He was almost like a child for the Forbes family and that's why he is welcome in the house. No-one is pointing a finger at him apart from people on social media.  We are not entertaining it. We were with Don Design yesterday at the house and Siya, who are the people who were with Kiernan and they travelled with him all the time."

Songstress Zandile Gumede took to her Instagram to comfort Don and said she knew what he was going through.

“I feel for you Don Design wabantu. Even though I don't know you I know what you are going through. You must know SA has smart people but it is dominated by a lot of fools with data and smartphones. If you are weak your life will be turned upside down by these clueless fools. Stay strong bhuti, mourn your friend, heal and continue to live your life as long as you know your truth and your friend knows the truth. Love and light,” she captioned the post.
