Cassper Nyovest recently visited his former school in his hometown of Mahikeng to give back.

The rapper recently revealed he took a trip to Sol Plaatje Primary School in North West, which he started attending in 1996, to build a water well, putting an end to water issues.

“A dream come true. Went back to my old primary school and built a water well with the help of Quinton Van Der Burgh and QVDB Foundation. The kids were so happy, one of the happiest days of my life. Met some of my teachers and I’m sure they were proud to see how great their work was in my life. All the glory to God. Water is life, Let’s do more.”

The rapper said this was the first of the many things he would do to help the school as he had other plans.

Cassper Nyovest is always looking to make a difference in his hometown.

Ahead of his Fill Up Mmabatho concert last December, the Siyathandana hit maker gathered some community members in his hometown of Maftown (Mahikeng) in North West for a fun run to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Cassper also visited the Legae Motheo Shelter and Welfare Centre in Seweding village with Mahikeng mayor Gosiame Seatlholo to donate 100 pairs of Root Of Fame sneakers with help from the department of social development and volunteers.

Cassper said it warmed his heart to have the privilege to return home and help where he can.

“This is a collaboration of fashion and music for a purposeful outcome. We also extended an invite for the children to come watch #FillUpMmabatho for free this Saturday.

“Special gratitude goes out to the honourable mayor for making time to be with us, the volunteers who constantly give their hearts out in helping the children, and the department of social development for going the extra mile in helping us identifying these homes.”

His girlfriend and baby mama, Thobeka Majozi, expressed her pride in seeing him make such gestures.

Such a good role model for not just our child but all the children out there. Well done dada,” she wrote.
