Pearl Thusi responded to the backlash over her “daring” outfit.

The media personality and actress maintained a spot on the trends lists for several days when her chiffon jumpsuit that displayed a peek of her breasts at Rich Mnisi's One Of One party with Adidas on June 10 went viral.

Pearl's look received mixed reactions from social media users, with many deeming it inappropriate.

Responding, Pearl took to her Instagram stories telling her followers to never let anyone police their life choices.

“Live your lives, ladies. You don't need anyone's permission,” she wrote.

In another post, Pearl spoke of having worn a similar look for magazine features and posing nude to shed light on social issues.

“Also — y’all need to stop acting like y’all ain’t see my ladies in my movies already. Nothing new happening here. I even did the Marie Claire naked what what twice.”

Among the many celebrities that did not approve of Pearl's outfit was former Real Housewives of Durban star Kgomotso Ndungane, who took to her timeline on Tuesday saying because she is a mother she had to be cognisant of how she chooses to conduct herself in public.

“It would be amiss of me not to publicly have a view about Pearl Thusi’s tits out pics which she has circulated on her socials and I am happy to be dragged and unpopular for my opinion but I will not be mum about it and encourage a mother of two on those vibes (whom I love so much, by the way).

“I am disappointed. PS: These are my views and if you want to argue, please ask yourself if your mother has ever paraded the streets tits out. How would you feel as a child/teen about it? If the answer is yes and you feel good, please go argue with her.”
