Nadia Nakai and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes came out as a couple in March 2022 and then the pair were serving couple goals, tied at the hip and seen at almost all events together.

While some were happy with their union, Nadia revealed it was not just another relationship. She said they believed it was a “God-ordained” relationship.

Nadia opened up on L-Tido's podcast on whether she thought the decision to date AKA through.

“There were a lot of factors that came into play. I was worried I would lose fans because I thought my fans were because of Refiloe [Cassper]. I didn't realise my fans were my fans. They stuck with me and I've grown more, but I was concerned about that, my fans, that they were going to turn against me, what were people going to say, and with Kiernan coming out of what he had gone through. I was also concerned about that, is it too soon, does he need time?

“My mind was all over the place. I didn't know what to do, but fortunately both of us believed for us to get together from were we were coming from, the most opposite sides of the spectrum, the only thing I thought was it had to be God. So we got to a point where we didn't care about anything else, because everyone else's opinion cannot be stronger than what God is trying to do in our lives.”

The two stars took to their Instagram timelines in March 2022, sharing a gif video of them sharing a kiss at Orthodox VIP Lounge in Johannesburg.

“Mega 2 mega” they captioned the post.

AKA was shot dead on February 10 in Durban's Florida Road.

Since then, Nadia has been picking up the pieces. Taking to her Instagram stories, she said life without AKA was still peculiar for her.

“So many spaces I'm in where I can't help but imagine you in them,” she posted.

“I can't wait to get to the point where I think about you and smile, and not think about you and hold back my tears.”
