DJ Tira has slammed former Ukhozi FM presenter Ngizwe Mchunu for allegedly dragging his name on social media.

The radio personality said the DJ's alcohol brand did not taste good, claiming he has not kept the promise he made at Mampintsha's funeral, and was allegedly on drugs and exploiting Babes Wodumo.

When he appeared at the Nkosinathi Mgcabangelwa Cele Tournament 2023 in Shobeni, KwaZulu-Natal, on June 16 where Ngizwe was MCing, Tira addressed the comments.

Akaze kimina azoxolisa for lamasimba awasho kunina (that person must come apologise for the bulls**t they said about me). Mina imali ngiy'phantela (I hustle for my own money). I created my own cider that people are loving, and then you come talk s**t.

Uyangijwayel (you’re disrespecting me). I’m not your friend. Stop introducing me, Tira this Tira that, and marketing me, if you’re talking s**t. I’ll tell you to your face, you’re talking sh*t.”

About six months ago, DJ Tira ventured into the liquor business, launching his own premium cider called Bearings Cyder.

Disregarding naysayers on social media, The DJ and producer said business was good.

“The success of the cider has been amazing. People are loving it and I'm really amazed. I thought people would respond positively, but, yoh, this is great. We really have a nice cider, it's treating them well.”

*An earlier version of this story made reference to Mchunu as a current Ukhozi FM presenter. Mchunu is no longer at the station.
