Actress Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema is shifting the focus of her career back to her first love — music.

After the release of her single Tiyane with her partner Tino, Simz is set to release her own music under the moniker Quing Simz.

Taking to her social media timeline, the actress and singer shed light on the inspiration behind her upcoming song Idliso.

“I believe music is about telling stories. It gives us an opportunity to express ourselves and tell stories that we want to tell. Stories about love, pain, and life in general. Fictional or real, I have an opportunity to tell stories that people can relate to.

“Stories people can heal from, stories that will give people hope or in the case of Idliso, inspire people to believe in love again. Remind them that love conquers all and with people that truly love you beside you, you can achieve anything. Idliso is a song that reminds people that love still exists and there are still people who will stand with you even in your worst times,” she wrote.

For the past few months, Simz has been working on music while her boyfriend works on his EP.

“We are enjoying this time of being in music and creating,” Simz told TshisaLIVE.

They've been together for nearly four years, dating on and off, but are now inseparable.

After losing her husband Dumi Masilela in a hijacking in 2017, Simz never thought she could love again, but now she has found a compatible partner, she is spreading the message of hope and love through her work.

“The way things happened between Tino and me wasn't planned. I think God knew because things happened differently. This was supposed to be a fling and look at us now. God knew that after what I experienced, I'd be afraid to fall in love, I'd be afraid to open my heart again,

“For us, it's about spreading love. Letting the public know there are healthy relationships, healthy families. Because we live in a society that is always toxic, we need love and to show black love even more,” said Simz.
