Adrienne Watkins has penned a sweet birthday note to her late fiancé, Mark Pilgrim.

Mark died on March 5 at home with his family. He was 53.

Taking to her socials on Wednesday, she shared a snap of them together, adding she still loved him dearly.

“Today [Wednesday], you would have been 54. I wish more than anything I could give you the biggest birthday cuddle and kiss and make a wish for you as we celebrate you and your life and the amazing human you are followed by dinner and cake with the girls. I miss you so much my love bug. We love you so much and will never stop loving you. Happy birthday my baby,” she wrote.

At his memorial service in March, radio jock Mark was described as a man who lived his life to the full, expressed love and positivity and had a great sense of humour.

Taking to the podium at the time, Adrienne shared the life she and Mark shared.

“To my beautiful Mark, this is not goodbye but just farewell. The past three years have been the most incredible of my existence.

“From our first date you took my breath away and it felt like something out of a famous movie scene. From the beginning, I knew this was the love I have been waiting for. You are what fairy tales are made of.

“Growing in love with you, I quickly learnt what a significant and remarkable human you were and you were my home. Beyond your outstanding career and professional accomplishments and the legend you are to South Africa, to me you are an old-school gentleman; even in the last week you ordered me flowers.

“A kind and selfless father and an ambitious businessman with extraordinary drive and determination, so incredibly strong and rooted, yet so exceptionally compassionate and kind. A balance that few people are able to achieve in their lifetime and yet this was so easy for you, my love.”
