Johannesburg transport MMC Kenny Kunene and Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie visited soccer star Bernard Parker at his home in Boksburg as he recovers from injury.

The former Bafana Bafana international broke his leg in an over-the-top challenge by Bongani Zungu during TS Galaxy’s 5-4 Carling Knockout penalty shoot-out win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

After surgery, Bernard still plans to be back on the football field in future.

Kunene encouraged Parker's fans to keep showing support and buy his autobiography.

“We went to visit Bernard Parker at his home in Boksburg. I pray for the speedy healing of this legend. Please buy his book titled From A Shack To Destiny: Bernard Parker Die Hond”.

Bernard also took to his timeline sharing images from their visit with the caption: “One love! Thank you for the visit.”

Bernard has been appreciative of the support he's received since the incident.

The soccer star keeps his followers up to date on his timeline.

“Thank you for the love and support, especially from my family. I love you guys. To Tim Sukazi, the TS Galaxy family, coaches and management, thank you for your support.

“My captain [Mlungisi Mbunjane], well done on a man-of-the-match performance and getting us into the next round as a team. Everybody who sent messages, especially the other soccer clubs, thanks so much. Our supporters, thanks for all the well-wishes and the love you showed me. I will see you guys on the field and God bless.”
