Thandiswa Mazwai was honoured with the Simon Nkoli Award at the 15th annual Feathers Awards.

Simon Tseko Nkoli was a gay activist and anti-apartheid leader who fought for freedom and social justice in South Africa and his awards are evidence of his political contribution.

The Feather Awards XV celebrated the unique tapestry of the LGBTQIA+ community and honoured those who have made a significant contribution to the world of entertainment.

• Social Media Personality of the Year: Sabelo The Creator; 
• Best LGBTIQ+ Initiative: Private Sector: Nike;
• Best LGBTIQ+ Initiative: Public Sector: NONE/Do Better;
• Best LGBTIQ+ Youth Movement: Phuti Lekoloane Foundation;
• Best Rainbow Parenting: Zodwa Rannyadi and Nandipha Jovuka and Abraham Sebidi; and
• African Feather of the Year: Samuell Matsikure.
