YFM radio jock Supta has released a new single titled Phakamisa.
Supta, real name Siyabulela Sithole, hailing from Aliwal North in Eastern Cape, is known for producing songs such as Prince Kaybee's Gugulethu, Kuzolunga and Ntinga Ntaka.
TshisaLIVE spoke to Supta after the release of Phakamisa featuring Kmat and Sizwe Alakine, also known as Reason.
“Both artists bring their own unique styles and energy to the track, creating a powerful synergy that is sure to resonate with listeners. My single promises to be a game-changer, showcasing growth as an artist and setting the stage for the highly anticipated album,” he said.
“I think it’s time I take a risk with my music and give people what they want. My music has always been about giving people a strong, purposeful and meaningful message and this time it’s no different.”
Fans can expect a fusion of infectious beats, captivating melodies and thought-provoking lyrics that will leave a lasting impression.
“I am working on my debut album, which is way overdue. I'm going to release a full body of work. It's been more than 10 years.”
Supta is host of YFM's Unlocked with Supta, airing from 7pm to 9pm on week nights.
Reflecting on his radio journey, Supta said: “Radio is a platform which introduced me to the entertainment industry on a large scale nationally and is something I'm grateful for. I see myself growing in the radio industry, helping, building, informing and being a companion to the listeners. .
“My radio show is Unlocked with Supta, that's my baby. I started in 2023 with the A-list 9pm to 12pm, and I found my community there.”
