Shots fired! Mabala Noise responds to R5 million claims: Julius likes being in jail

There's a massive war of words between new kids on the block Mabala Noise and EFF leader Julius Malema.

On Friday Malema took aim at Mabala Noise during a live press conference at the IEC results centre.

Malema accused ANC Youth League treasurer general Reggie Nkabinde of paying artists in the newly established stable "not less than R5 million" to sign to the group and perform at ANC political events.

The EFF leader further added that Mabala is funded through dodgy government tenders.

During a press conference in Johannesburg, Nkabinde rubbished the claims saying that it was consulting with lawyers.

"We are still consulting our legal team as to how to go forward. Julius grew up in jail, he likes being in jail so it's a waste of time to take him to court. "

He insisted that Mabala Noise is an independently owned company.

"Why would artists sell their soul for R5million. We will continue to continue in our quest to ensure an African child continues," he added. "The day we take him to task he must be able to prove his statements for now anyone who wants proof must go ask Julius," he added.

Mabala made big entertainment industry news when it signed the likes of Riky Rick, Gigi Laymayne and Nasty C to the label earlier this year. Mabala also brought Chris Brown into the country to perform at its marquee at The Durban July last month. It was there that President Jacob Zuma made an appearance and happily posed for selfies with fans.
