George Louca‚ the man accused of the murder of Teazers strip club boss Lolly Jackson‚ on Tuesday gave a detailed account of events that led to Jackson's murder. The visibly ill Louca‚ who is in a wheelchair and on oxygen support‚ was asked to take the stand in the Johannesburg High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court to explain why he fled the country in 2010‚ shortly after Jackson was murdered.This was part of a section 49E application that the Department of Justice and Correctional Services brought on Louca’s behalf to have him released from prison and sent to a private healthcare facility.The department's spokesman‚ Mthunzi Mhaga‚ said last week that the department had filed the application because Louca has stage four lung cancer‚ the most advanced stage of the disease.Section 49E of the Correctional Matters Amendment Act of 2011 provides for the head of a detention facility or correctional centre to apply to court for the release of a prisoner if he or she is of the opinion that the prisoner is suffering from a terminal disease or condition that renders him or her physically incapacitated and the facility cannot provide adequate care.Louca‚ who was struggling to breathe and spoke softly‚ gave his evidence with the help of an interpreter who was often asked to repeat what he said.He implicated Czech fugitive and alleged underworld boss Radovan Krecjir in Jackson's murder.He told the court that he had fled the country because he was afraid Krecjir would kill him. - RDM News Wire, TMG Courts and Law..
