A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his twins at his holiday home in Hout Bay. The twins - a boy and a girl - are three years old.

Their bodies‚ police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said‚ were discovered by their mother at their father's holiday home in the Cape Town suburb.

"At her arrival‚ the 48-year-old father fled the scene in the mother's vehicle but was later arrested in Wynberg‚'' said Traut.

Once charged‚ he will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates court for the double murder as well as motor vehicle theft. "The exact cause of their death is yet to be determined‚'' said Traut.
