WATCH | Lion attacks, drags man into bush

A lion overpowered and dragged a man who entered its enclosure into the undergrowth in a horrifying video that hit the internet on Monday. 

According to the Daily Sun, Mike Hodges of the Marakele Animal Sanctuary entered the lion's enclosure in order to investigate a strange smell, only to get attacked by the agitated beast.

He was apparently rushed to the Mediclinic Hospital three miles away, where he is currently being treated for injuries to his neck and jaw.

News24 reports that Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe told them the incident happened on Monday.

The Daily Mail reports that the lion may have been put down following the attack.
