Samsung has debuted its foldable smartphone which is expected to hit shelves in 2019.

The electronic company revealed the new phone at its developer conference in San Francisco on November 8.

Infinity Flex Display will allow users to have a new experience with a smartphone. According to Samsung, the phone will give users the best of both worlds. It is a compact smartphone with a larger display that allows for better viewing and multi-tasking, as well as seamlessly moving to a smaller display as the phone folds.

The unfolded screen is 18.5-cm. It can also display three different apps simultaneously. According to The Guardian, Samsung is not the only cellphone manufacturing company creating a foldable phone. Huawei is planning to release a 5G foldable phone in mid-2019.

The Samsung smartphone is not the first one of this nature. Chinese company, Royole revealed the Flex Pai foldable earlier this year and will be available from December 2018.
