What are you reading right now?

THIS year I am chairing the committee of judges for the Caine Prize for African Writing. My fellow judges and I are reading close to 140 short stories. It is a wonderful way of seeing what young authors across the continent are thinking about. There is so much talent in our continent.

In a nutshell?

Reading these stories is a poignant reminder of the importance of education and how that is linked to standards of living. It shows when a writer has had access to education and books. Reading the stories has made me a stronger advocate for schools.
