Three Cape Town men accused of killing Beerhouse doorman Joe-Louis Kanyona have to wait for a month before their application for bail can be heard.
Ubaid van der Berg, 20, Toufiq Essa, 21, and Nasbie Edwards, 27, were allegedly caught on CCTV attacking Kanyona outside the Long Street bar last week.
The 33-year-old Congolese was stabbed and the knife was left in his neck as his assailants fled.
The three alleged killers were arrested after the footage was handed to police.
They appeared yesterday in Cape Town Magistrate's Court, where the prosecution claimed the murder was premeditated and that the three were hired to kill Kanyona for a reward of R1 000 each.
The State is opposed to their release on bail.
The matter was postponed until July 23.
