A man‚ believed to be in his 20s‚ is in a critical condition after he was shot numerous times in the back on Esselen Road in Hillbrow‚ Johannesburg‚ on Sunday morning‚ paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by the local authorities and the local Community Policing Forum (CPF).
“Upon arrival‚ paramedics found the man lying on the sidewalk in a pool of blood.
“Assessments showed that the man had sustained several gunshot wounds to his back and was in a critical condition‚” said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.
“Paramedics immediately began their treatment and initiated advanced life support interventions.
“Once treatment was complete‚ the patient was transported to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent treatment‚” Meiring added
He said the gunman had apparently been arrested by local authorities at the scene.
