Primary school girl dies in police prisoner truck accident

Police have confirmed that primary school girl was killed on Wednesday by a police truck transporting prisoners in Wynberg‚ near Johannesburg.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said it was not clear how the accident occurred‚ but the child had somehow ended up underneath the truck.

The accident occured around 3pm.

No prisoners escaped‚ Dlamini said.

“At the moment members of the SAPS are on scene and investigating. We will know more in the morning‚” he said on Wednesday night.
