The police arrested a 65-year-old suspect for murder and attempted murder on Sunday in KwaZulu-Natal.

“It is alleged that in the early hours of today, a male took two females from the restaurant to his house at a local farm. An argument ensued between them when they wanted to leave. The male took out a shotgun and fired shots at them. One female was fatally shot and the other survived,” police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said.

“The male allegedly wrapped the body and took the body into his vehicle, leaving the victim to clean up. She managed to flee and reported the incident to the police.”

The KwaMbonambi police tracked down the suspect, who shot at them.

“Police retaliated, but no injuries were sustained. A body was found wrapped with a plastic bag at Emangweni area.”

The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court.
