Two emergency medical services (EMS) workers were robbed at gunpoint in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, over the weekend, police said on Monday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said the paramedics were responding to a call in Harare on Saturday evening when they were ambushed by four men.

Two of the men were armed.

Rwexana said the men opened fire and robbed the two paramedics of their belongings, including cell phones, wallets and radios.

No arrests have been made.
